The dawn of a new year is here, and in the spirit of renovation, The IPKat welcomes new GuestKats Gabriele Girardello, Jan Jacobi and Becky Knott to our family.
Here’s a bit more about them:
Gabriele Girardello
Gabriele is an Italian-qualified lawyer and holds an LLM in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Turin – WIPO. He’s been practising law since 2006 and working since 2011 in the IP Department at Pavia e Ansaldo. He specializes in IP litigation and transactions (also cross-border). His focus industries are life sciences, manufacturing, and fashion. Gabriele’s main areas of interest are patents, trade marks and trade secrets. An eager and passionate IPKat reader since 2008, Gabriele has already contributed to the blog with a few guest posts in the past. More details on Gabriele here.
Jan Jacobi
Jan Jacobi (LLM University of Amsterdam) is currently an international legal counsel, working for a commercial company in London. Prior to his in-house role, Jan practised as an attorney-at-law admitted to the Dutch bar. With his previous focus on trade mark law, copyright, and design rights, Jan is always looking for interesting cases and new developments in the field. You can learn more about Jan here.
Becky Knott
Becky is a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and Trade Mark Attorney Litigator. She is currently taking a break from active practice to study for the Graduate Diploma in Law in the hopes of retraining as a barrister (specializing in IP of course!). Before embarking on yet another set of exams, Becky worked at Barker Brettell LLP for six years. There, she developed extensive experience in trade mark prosecution and enforcement, including domain name disputes and social media takedowns. Becky is particularly interested in trade marks and the internet, as well as her cat Skittle. You can learn more about Becky here and follow her on Twitter here.
