It’s time to relax and briefly recap last week’s posts on IPKat!

The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) has found Denmark in breach of its obligations under Regulation (EU) No. 1151/2012 by failing to prohibit the use of the Greek PDO “Feta” on cheese produced in Denmark and intended for export outside the EU (Case C-159/20), and our GuestKat Anastasiia Kyrylenko has written a related post on the subject!
The EPO’s announced workshop on patent description amendments took place in late June and was intended to provide “clarity” to users after recent conflicting decisions on the issue by the Boards of Appeal. The EPO has now indicated that the expert workshop “confirmed” the EPO’s practice on description amendments. For analysis and more information, see GuestKat Rose Hughes’ post!
GuestKat Rose Hughes reported on the EPO’s consultations on the joint EPO/epi proposal for a new European Qualifying Examination (EQE) for trainee patent attorneys. Full details on the proposal and consultation, as well as the new examination format, can be found here!
Our TechieKat Verónica Rodríguez Arguijo reported on the outcome of WIPO General Assembly on the proposed Design Law Treaty (DLT) which took place on July 21 and approved the convening of diplomatic conferences on designs and genetic resources, no later than 2024. All details are available in the following post.
