Events

24 February 2023: “What Does My Claim Cover?”

UNION-IP will hold an event, titled “What Does My Claim Cover? – Intended and Unintended Consequences of Amendments During Prosecution and Post-Grant Proceedings”, in Munich, on 24 February 2023. This roundtable will be an opportunity to debate the impact of the changes to the Guidelines for Examination (F-IV 4.3 in particular) in relation to amendments to the description, in judicial proceedings and before the EPO. 16–17 March 2023: “Standard Essential Patent and Fair, Reasonable and Non-Discriminatory (FRAND) Licensing: The interplay between IP, competition and contract law”

The CEIPI is organizing another edition of the advanced seminar on “Standard Essential Patent and Fair, Reasonable and Non-Discriminatory (FRAND) Licensing: The interplay between IP, competition and contract law”. The seminar will take place in Paris and online, on 16 and 17 March 2023 and entirely in English. Click here to know more.

6-7 April 2023: “From the DMCA to the DSA: A Transatlantic Dialogue on Online Platform Liability and Copyright Law”

The Berkeley Center for Law and Technology will hold its 27th annual symposium, on 6 and 7 April 2023, at the International House, UC Berkeley. With the adoption of both the Directive on Copyright and Related Rights in the Digital Single Market (CDSM) and the Digital Services Act (DSA), the European Union has moved away from the notice-and-takedown model for copyright enforcement and content moderation. This symposium will feature scholars, policymakers, and industry participants assessing the ramifications of the shift to a more regulatory approach with a particular focus on copyright. 4-7 October 2023: “Open Forum event”

The International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI) is hosting its Open Forum event from 4 to 7 October 2023, in London. More information to come.

Calls for papers

Call for papers: “Three days international conference on intellectual property rights & emerging trends in healthcare” sector”

The Center for Excellence in Intellectual Property Rights, ICFAI Law School, IFHE, Hyderabad is organizing a three days international conference on “Intellectual Property Rights & Emerging Trends in the Healthcare Sector”. The conference will be conducted in person from 6 till 8 April 2023 at ICFAI Law School, IFHE, Hyderabad Campus. All the accepted full research papers submitted before the 28 February 2023 will be published in a book form. More information is available here.

Call for papers: “41st ATRIP annual Congress”

The 41st ATRIP annual Congress will be organized by the University of Tokyo from 9 to 12 July 2023. The topic of this year’s conference is “The Interface of Intellectual Property Law with other Legal Disciplines, what can IP learn from its interactions with different fields of law and vice versa?”. The submission deadline is 30 March 2023. This time, ATRIP proposes a separate call for PhD students for presentations in a dedicated workshop on Sunday 9 July, adding a session on early career publishing at the end.
