Caroline Morgan |
It is with great sorrow that IFRRO mourns the passing of Caroline Morgan, our CEO and Secretary General, following her brief, brave, battle with cancer.
As CEO since 2016, Caroline made important and lasting contributions, bringing her extensive expertise in collective management, IP policy and law. Her strategic insights, dedication, and perseverance in advocating for IFRRO’s members were just some of the gifts Caroline shared with all of us. Caroline’s collaborative and inclusive nature was reflected in her ability to connect and build bonds between diverse stakeholders, strengthening the IFRRO community. A credit to Caroline’s leadership, she built strong links with WIPO, and engaged with local governments to increase support for members at a national level giving an enormous amount of herself to IFRRO’s members, stakeholders, and to copyright.
Caroline was an extraordinary individual who made a significant positive impact on copyright and collective licensing. Her leadership and commitment to advancing the rights of creators and copyright holders were truly remarkable.
“We remember Caroline as a vital and energetic force, as a dear friend and colleague, and for her fierce intelligence and good humor, contributing immensely to our community as a steady and invaluable leader,” said Tracey Armstrong, President of IFRRO’s Board of Directors. “Her strategic insights, dedication, and perseverance in advocating for IFRRO’s members shaped IFRRO into the organisation that it is today and is a lasting part of Caroline’s legacy.”
Beyond her professional achievements, she was a dear friend to many. Caroline’s warmth, grace, sense of humor, kindness and generosity touched the lives of those around her and left a lasting impression on so many people.
The world of copyright and collective licensing has truly lost an incredible leader, one who navigated complex issues with intelligence, empathy, and vision. We have lost our friend and colleague Caroline, a beautiful person who was a shining light in this world who touched so many lives.
We hold Caroline’s family, who she loved so dearly, in our thoughts at this incredibly sad time.
