We have two major news items concerning the IPKat team we wish to share with our readers.
Hayleigh Bosher´s fellowship
Over the past several years, Hayleigh has contributed to the blog as a Book Review Editor. She will start a fellowship in March 2024 and be on leave from the IPKat until early 2025. We are grateful for Hayleigh’s contributions and wish her all the best in her new endeavour!
Antonios Baris joins the team
As of March 2024, Antonios will be joining the team as a book review editor. Antonios Baris is a Greek-certified lawyer and a member of the Thessaloniki’s Bar Association since 2021. He holds an MA in Art Law and Art Management from the International Hellenic University and an LLM in Legal Theory and Interdisciplinary Legal Studies, focusing on copyright law, from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is pursuing an LLM in European Intellectual Property Law at Stockholm University. More on Antonios here.

13 March 2024: Question the Trade Mark Judges 2024
The UCL Institute of Brand and Innovation Law (IBIL) and MARQUES, the European Association of Trade Mark Owners are holding the 2024 edition of Question the Trade Mark Judges on 13 March 2024 in London.
This year, The Rt Hon Professor Sir Robin Jacob will be posing a set of pre-selected questions from the audience to Virginia Melgar, The Hon Mr Justice Mellor KC, Douglas Campbell KC and Allan James. More details on how to attend and submit questions here.
29-30 April 2024: EUIPO IP Case-Law Conference
As announced by the IPKat earlier this month, the EUIPO’s IP Case-Law Conference is returning for the fifth time to Alicante and online on 29 and 30 April 2024.
The conference gathers influential figures drawn from private practice, judiciary, academia, and major IP offices to engage in discussions. The programme, including confirmed speakers, can be found here.

Calls and opportunities
Call for articles: JIPLP special issue to celebrate the first anniversary of the UPC
The Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice (JIPLP) will be publishing a special issue to celebrate the first anniversary of the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
Interested authors are invited to submit articles (with a length of between 3,000 and 8,000 words) that focus on the lessons learnt during the first year of operation of the UPC, with a particular interest in articles which provide an analysis of substantive or procedural matters in light of the emerging case law of the UPC.
