Artificial intelligence, intellectual property and the creative industries (4 March 2025)

On 4 March 2025, LSE will host a hybrid (London and online) panel discussion devoted to IP issues facing the training and use of generative AI models that produce works of text, art and music, and also the use of AI in the context of image rights of performers. For further information, click here.

Botticelli v. Warhol: Comparative perspectives on the use of cultural heritage images (12-13 June 2025)

On 12 and 13 June 2025, the University of Florence and EUI are teaming up to host a conference devoted to the discussion of how different legal systems regulate access to their cultural heritage and impact follow-on creative expressions. Opportunity

The Competition Law Association has announced that the Golding Essay Prize 2025 will have the following theme: “Can UK Copyright Law deal with a Digital World?”. The Golding Essay Prize is open to any:
  • student (whether currently based in the UK or in a foreign jurisdiction) but excluding any student currently practising as a qualified lawyer, whether full-time or part-time; or
  • trainee solicitor, pupil barrister, devil barrister (from Scotland) or trainee patent and trade mark attorney; or
  • qualified solicitor or barrister with less than 2 years PQE.
