French Patent and Trade Mark Office (INPI) and Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) – International Conference “What challenges for industrial property in the context of the recovery?” – 3 February 2022
INPI will hold on 3 February 2022 (9:00am-6:20pm), in partnership with CEIPI, an international conference on the industrial property challenges associated with the economic recovery in light of France’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The event will be fully online, streamed in English and French. Registration is open now and more information about the event is available here.
University of Westminster – Sir Richard Arnold Westminster Law School Annual Lecture 2022 – 15 February 2022
Sir Richard Arnold will deliver his annual lecture on 15 February 2022 (5:30pm-7:00pm, GMT) on ‘Issues and Developments in Entertainment Law: an intellectual property perspective’, where he will cover a variety of current issues and developments. UCL Institute of Brand and Innovation (IBIL) – Can the IP System Serve Small Businesses Better? 23 February 2022
IBIL will hold a hybrid event (online and London, UK) on 23 February 2022 (6:00pm-7:30pm, GMT) where a panel of experts will brainstorm the ways in which the IP system might serve the needs of creative and innovative small businesses better, and how appropriate IP protection and policing these rights can be vital to ensure that an SME is able to realise its full commercial potential in a competitive market. Essex University – Scholarship for PhD studentship looking at the drivers of demand for intellectual property (IP) instruments in the UK
Essex University is offering a fully funded PhD scholarship to look at the drivers of demand for intellectual property (IP) instruments in the UK. Candidates should have a management, economics, or similar background. The funding covers fees, a £15k stipend, and can also cover a Master’s degree. The post is hosted at the South East Network for Social Sciences and is in association with the UKIPO. More details can be found here. The deadline to apply is 28 February 2022 at 12:00, GMT.
Intellectual Property Quarterly
Professor Margaret Llewelyn edited the Intellectual Property Quarterly for nearly twenty years, and she managed the submission almost entirely single-handedly. When she died suddenly in November last year all her files were lost. If anyone submitted an article to Professor Llewelyn and has not heard anything back and they would still like it considered, they are kindly requested to resubmit it to the new editor (Professor Phillip Johnson) at the new journal email [email protected]. If yet to receive peer review, please be assured these submissions will proceed through the usual review process. If anyone has returned a peer review in the second half of last year (and the article has not been published) please re-send to [email protected]. Finally, any new content should be sent to the new journal email [email protected] in order to be considered for publication in the journal.
EUIPO Alicante News – Green with… IP
Our PermaKat Eleonora Rosati’s article “Green with… IP” was published in the recent issue of Alicante News – EUIPO’s Monthly Newsletter.
