Call For Papers – International Congress: “Towards a Responsible Development of the Metaverse” University of Alicante
The Academic Chair for the Responsible Development of the Metaverse of the University of Alicante is hosting the International Congress entitled “Towards a Responsible Development of the Metaverse”. The conference is set to take place on 13 and 14 June 2024 at the University of Alicante. The Congress is aimed at discussing six main topics and their relation to the Metaverse: the European Digital Acts, the Legal Status of Avatars and Digital Identity, Privacy and Personal Data Protection, Content and Conduct Moderation, Virtual Worlds as Markets and Cybersecurity. The Chair is launching a Call for Papers, addressed to anyone interested in presenting during the conference in relation to any of the topics. The selected papers will then be considered for publication in a special issue of the Interactive Entertainment Law Review. Up to 15 papers will be selected and the authors’ travel and accommodation expenses for attending the Congress will be covered. The call is addressed to PhD candidates and students or post-doc position holders in a European University. The deadline to submit the proposals is set on the 28 February 2024. More information here.

Research Grant – University of Udine
The University of Udine has just launched an opportunity for a research grant on the topic: Italian copyright law after the EU Directive on copyright and related rights in the Digital Single Market, and its effects on cultural heritage. Copyright and AI Webinar – OxFirst
