Events and conferences
7 May 2024: The Professor Bill Cornish Memorial Lecture 2024
This year’s Bill Cornish Memorial Lecture is titled “Intellectual Property norms in the Polycrisis – (Still) Omnipresent, Distracting, Irrelevant?” and will be delivered by Professor Caroline Ncube (University of Cape Town) on 7 May 2024. 16-17 May 2024: Patents in Telecoms & the Internet of Things
Now in its 7th year, the UCL conference on Patents in Telecoms will be delivered on 16 and 17 May, both in person in London and online. For further information and to register, click here.
12 June 2024: How are novelty and inventive step to be assessed and should the patent claim be construed first?
On 12 June 2024, UCL will host a lecture delivered by Peter Meier-Beck (retired Presiding Judge of the German Federal Supreme Court) and reflecting on the first lessons to be learned from the UPC Court of Appeal. 20 June 2024: Annual Sir Hugh Laddie Lecture
On the topic of lectures, there is also the Annual Sir Hugh Laddie one to look forward to. This year’s lecture will be delivered on 20 June 2024 by Gadi Oron (Director General of CISAC, The International Confederation of Authors and Composers Societies) and chaired by Professor Sir Robin Jacob. The title is “Artificial Intelligence and Collective Rights Management: the Future or the End?” and participation will be possible both in person at University College London and online. 4-5 October 2024: EIPTN 16th Worldwide Annual Conference

9 May – 7 June 2024: Fashion Law. Diritto e Cultura nella Filiera della Moda
The University of Florence is organizing a new edition of its fashion law course, which will be delivered in Italian and English in Florence. It is possible to register to attend the entire course, but also parts of it (e.g., only the Italian-language modules or the English-language one).
