New security measures at EPO buildings
14 February 2017
The security of staff, visitors and business is of paramount importance to the EPO. The Office has therefore commissioned external security audits to identify any measures that are needed to respond effectively to the current security situation in Europe.
As a result, the automated mail-box at the EPO’s headquarters in Munich (Isar building, Kohlstrasse) is being closed as from 1 April 2017. Outside office hours, documents may be handed to the porter, who will security-scan them on receipt.
The automated mail-boxes at the EPO’s PschorrHöfe building in Munich (Zollstrasse) and at its sub-office in Berlin will remain open.
For further information, please refer to the decision of the President of the European Patent Office dated 3 January 2017 designating the EPO’s filing offices, and to the notice from the EPO of the same date concerning their availability; both are being published in the February edition of the EPO Official Journal.
