The amendments made to Uzbekistan’s legislation as part of its accession to the World Trade Organization introduce a new mechanism of compensation for damages in IP infringement cases, providing rightholders with a more flexible, efficient, and equitable enforcement system.
Marcel Pemsel analysed the recent Neoperl decision (C-93/23 P) of the Court of Justice of the EU. According to the CJEU, there is no order in which absolute grounds for refusal must be assessed and none of them takes precedence over the other.

Katfriend Lilliana Swainson explained a recent Australian case on the subject of copycat products, Hampton Holdings IP Pty Ltd v Aldi Foods Pty Ltd [2024] FCA 1452. Justice Moshinsky of the Federal Court of Australia found that Aldi’s design amounted to copyright infringement.
